Balanced Resolution. Handcrafted Precision.
The Gold Series XLR Interconnect is VaultTone Audio's elevated performance cable in the balanced audio format. Built for listeners with highly resolving systems who want greater body, scale, and harmonic authority — now with the noise rejection and signal integrity of true balanced connectivity. Handcrafted in small batches at our workshop in Northern Kentucky, every pair is individually inspected before it leaves our hands.
Design Philosophy
Every VaultTone cable begins with a single objective: preserve the integrity of the musical signal while minimizing the electrical artifacts that obscure detail, texture, and realism. The Gold Series XLR achieves this through a substantially more substantial Type 2 Litz conductor architecture — four times the conductor count of the Silver Series — carefully controlled twisted-pair geometry, and Furutech FP-701M(G) / FP-702F(G) terminations delivering the full benefit of balanced signal transfer.

What Four Times the Conductor Count Means in a Balanced Format
The Gold Series XLR uses four times the conductor count of the Silver Series — 288 strands of 36 AWG silver-plated copper versus 72. Greater conductor count means lower resistance and improved current delivery, designed to support a more substantial, authoritative presentation. Add balanced architecture on top of that: the XLR's differential signal path is engineered to reject common-mode noise at the source, so what reaches your amplifier is cleaner to begin with. The Gold Series conductor system then works on that already-clean signal — offering greater scale, weight, and harmonic depth that characterizes the Gold Series presentation.
Furutech FP-701M(G) / FP-702F(G) XLR Connectors
Every Gold Series XLR is hand-terminated with Furutech's FP-701M(G) male and FP-702F(G) female XLR connectors — the precision-engineered endpoints where VaultTone's conductor meets your equipment. Each connector features a one-piece α (Alpha) eutectic cast copper alloy center pin, plated in 24k gold to resist oxidation and maintain optimal contact over time. The stainless steel housing provides rigidity and non-magnetic properties, with a copper alloy end clamp for secure strain relief. Made by Furutech.
