About VaultTone Audio

Built in a Bank Vault. Designed for Your Ears.

VaultTone Audio is a handcrafted high-end cable company based in a historic bank building in Northern Kentucky, just across the Ohio River from downtown Cincinnati. Behind our studio door — a genuine vault door, gears visible through thick glass — we build cables the way they should be built: by hand, in small batches, with materials chosen for performance rather than margin.

Years in the Making

VaultTone was founded by Mike, a lifelong audio obsessive who's been setting up sound systems since he was 13. Between Mike and his lead technician, they bring nearly two decades of cable design and craftsmanship from Morrow Audio, a respected name in audiophile cable design — designing, building, and refining cables that found their way into listening rooms around the world. They know this craft from the inside out — not from a spec sheet, but from thousands of hours of building, listening, and iterating.

Mike spent years touring the US as a lead vocalist, which gave him an early and deep appreciation for how sound is shaped, colored, and lost at every link in the chain. He remains an active vocalist and works regularly with live sound equipment — and it's that lifelong, hands-on relationship with music and audio that keeps his ears sharp. When you've spent decades listening critically across every kind of environment, you develop a reference point that no measurement alone can replace.

When he decided to build something of his own, he didn't start from scratch. He started from everything he'd learned.

Why VaultTone?

The audiophile cable market is full of mystery and marketing. Some brands hide behind vague philosophy. Others bury you in data. We believe there's a better way: tell you enough to understand why it works, show you the craft, and let the music do the rest.

Every VaultTone cable is built with precision-engineered Type 2 Litz conductors — silver-plated oxygen-free copper, individually insulated strand by strand, with nylon serve and cotton serve wrap to keep the twist consistent throughout the cable. We terminate with Furutech rhodium-plated RCA connectors and Neutrik XX Series XLR connectors, machined to tolerances that matter. And every cable that leaves our studio has been individually inspected by the hands that built it.

We're not a factory. We're a small team of craftsmen who care deeply about what goes into your system — and what comes out of your speakers.

The Vault

Our studio is housed in a building that has stood for over a century. The vault door at its center — with its exposed gear mechanism visible through thick glass — is more than a backdrop. It's a reminder of what we're building: something built to last, built with precision, built to protect what matters.

We thought that was a pretty good metaphor for a cable company.

What We Make

Our lineup includes the Silver Series and Gold Series RCA Interconnects, XLR Interconnects, and Speaker Cables. Every product in the VaultTone line shares the same design philosophy, the same materials standards, and the same hands-on construction process.

If you have questions about our cables, your system, or which product is right for you, we're always happy to talk. Reach out anytime.
